Email verification detail page

What it does

Sends a 6-digit code to the customer's email and asks them to reply with it in chat, before trusting that email for whichever actions you've selected below — so a typo'd or fake email can't silently receive one of them.

Fires when: right before Vosaire would take one of your selected actions for an email it hasn't verified with this store before.

Verified once, remembered after

Once an email is verified for your store, the customer is never asked again — even in a later, separate conversation. The verification is tied to the email address itself, not to a single chat session.

Choose which actions require it

Unlike a single on/off switch, you pick exactly which actions need a verified email — check any combination, or use Select all:

  • Create discount code — including the email-for-discount capture flow.
  • Marketing consent capture — an opt-in only counts once the email behind it is confirmed to actually belong to that customer.
  • Create checkout link — before Vosaire builds a draft order/checkout link tied to that email.
  • Back-in-stock notifications — before recording interest against that email.
  • Order lookup by email — only applies when a customer looks up an order using their email (not their phone number, and not at all once they're logged into their Shopify account).
  • Connecting to your team (escalation) — before handing a collected email off for follow-up.

Anything left unchecked never requires verification, even with this action enabled — pick only what actually matters for your store.

When to turn this on

Turn this on if you're concerned about customers using fake or mistyped emails to fish for discount codes, pollute marketing consent records, or tie up a checkout link to an email nobody can actually receive. Leave the relevant boxes unchecked wherever your store sees low abuse and you'd rather keep that particular flow frictionless — this is a per-action decision, not all-or-nothing.
