Fill AI gaps with pages and blog posts
An AI gap is a buyer question where no AI assistant mentions your store in the latest check. To fill it, the app writes a page or blog post that answers the question from your real product data. You review and approve it, and the app then checks whether AI starts recommending you.
Why it works: AI assistants search the web before they answer. A page on your store that answers the exact question gets found by web search, and so by the AI assistants that search the web.
Fill a gap
- Open Fill AI gaps. The AI gaps tab lists every question where AI doesn't mention you, and who it recommends instead.
- Click Fill this gap and choose:
- Publish as: a page (like your About page; best for a question shoppers ask again and again) or a blog post (good for guides and comparisons). If your store has no blog, the app creates one.
- Length: short (about 500 words), standard (about 900) or in-depth (about 1,800).
- Tone: your store's voice, or another tone for this page.
- Products to recommend: let the app choose the best fits, or pick up to 8 yourself.
- Must include and Avoid (optional): for example "our free resoling service" or "don't mention prices".
- Click Write it. Writing takes about a minute. The app reads your products, reads what AI assistants answer today, writes the answer and checks every fact against your product data.
Tick Save as my defaults to use the same choices for every new page, the gap agent's included. You can change them later in Settings → Store & AI writing.
Review and publish
Nothing goes live until you approve it. Before you do, you can:
- Edit the text: change any word, add headings, lists, links and your own images. Scripts and styling are removed, so the page always looks like the rest of your store.
- Set the title and search listing: the search title (aim for under 60 characters) and search description (under 155) that shoppers and search engines see.
- Add a cover image to a blog post (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF under 10 MB). It's stored in your Shopify Files.
- Preview on my store (optional): the app adds the page hidden so only you see it, in your own theme.
Then click Approve and publish. The app tells Bing about the new page right away through instant indexing.
AI writes only from your real product data: no invented specs, reviews or claims. Still, read every draft before you publish it.
After you publish
Each page moves through these stages under Your pages: writing → ready to review → published, waiting for AI → gap filled.
After every AI check, the app looks at whether AI now mentions you for that question. Search engines can take a week or two to find a new page, so give it time. If AI still doesn't mention you after two checks, the app drafts a better version for you to approve. Approving it updates the live page at the same address.
The gap agent
Turn on Draft pages for me after each AI check and the app drafts pages for your most important new gaps after every check, then asks you to review them. Nothing goes live until you approve.
