Competitors: who AI recommends instead, and why
The Competitors page shows every brand AI assistants recommend for your buyer questions, the questions each one beats you on, and what to change to win them back. You don't have to know your competitors in advance: the app finds them in the AI answers.
Competitors you track
After your first scan, the brands AI recommends show up under Also recommended. Click Track to follow one, or Ignore to stop counting it as a competitor. You can also add a brand yourself with Add competitor: add its website too, so the app recognises it when AI links to it.
For each tracked competitor you see:
- Recommended in: how often AI recommends it.
- Beats you on: the questions where it's recommended and you're not, or it's ranked above you.
- Average place: its usual place among the brands AI recommends.
How many competitors you can track depends on your plan: 3 on Free, 5 on Starter, 15 on Growth and unlimited on Pro.
Why AI recommends them (Growth and Pro)
Open a competitor and click Find out why. The app reads the AI answers where that brand wins and compares them with your store and products. You get:
- Why they win: the reasons, in short.
- What to change: a list of changes, each with its impact, its effort, and who does it: We can do it, We draft it, you approve, or You do it.
The analysis takes about a minute. If there's been a newer scan since, the app tells you so you can analyse again.
Where to get mentioned
AI assistants don't only read your store. They read review sites, community threads, videos, marketplaces and articles. The Where to get mentioned tab lists the sites AI read when answering your buyer questions, with the ones behind competitors' wins first. Each site has a type and a suggestion:
| Type | How to get there |
|---|---|
| Community | Take part in the threads where shoppers ask, or ask happy customers to share |
| Video | Send products to creators who review this kind of product |
| Marketplace | List your best sellers there, with full details |
| Review site | Pitch your products for their next review or roundup |
| Publisher | Pitch the writer for their next roundup or an update of the article |
| Competitor | A competitor's own site: make your pages answer the same questions better |
These sites also appear in What to fix as "Get mentioned on…" actions.
Alerts when a competitor overtakes you
When a competitor takes questions from you, it shows on Home under What changed, and you get an alert email if alerts are on. See Settings and email reports.
